The PS will be responsible for achieving optimum utilization of the equipment, material and labor, thus, maximizing production and minimizing costs in the area of assigned responsibility. All of this is to be accomplished in conjunction with practicing ethical business transactions, adhering to the corporate policies, values and beliefs while pursuing the company’s short and long range goals.

Education/Experience

  • Basic computer experience (e.g. e-mail, spreadsheets, internet)
  • High School Diploma
  • Prefer experience in airfield construction
  • Prefer experience with design/build

This is outside work in all types of environments, conditions, weather and seasons. Due to the nature of the position, regular and timely attendance is essential and hours must conform to the company's operation hours.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all necessary servicing on assigned equipment
    • Fuel equipment
    • Check fluid levels
    • Change filters
    • Check oil levels
    • Know types of fluids, grease and fuel
    • Other servicing as required
  • Work weekends and overtime as required
  • Complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner

Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to manage time and priorities and work effectively
  • Familiarity with heavy construction equipment
  • Ability to operate service vehicles safely and correctly
  • Ability to perform minor preventative maintenance on support equipment

Education/Experience:

  • Construction background required (concrete paving or heavy/highway preferred)
  • Class A CDL with HazMat Endorsement required

Additional Information:

  • Travel may be required

  • Hands-on knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems and braking systems is desired
  • Knowledge of concrete paving equipment and batch plants a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of hydraulics, electronics, gas and diesel machinery
  • Valid driver's license
  • Proven track record working in a contractor's environment
  • Construction, heavy-highway background
  • Specific experience with Caterpillar equipment a plus

Regional travel will be required.

We require that our mechanics have their own tools for which they receive monthly compensation.
